As a result, most LA County cities and surrounding county areas have recycling and diversion ordinances for C&D projects, requiring that a minimum percentage of material waste be diverted from landfills. A recycling/diversion ordinance requires that you submit a refundable deposit when you apply for a project permit. To get your deposit back, you must then submit documentation showing how you recycled and/or diverted your project’s waste materials.
